From NGO to Social Enterprise Social entrepreneurship: from donor funding to entrepreneurial social impact   Why this course? Many not-for-profit organisations are looking for ways to enhance their sustainability, diversify their income streams and become less dependent on external funding, yet retain their social impact mission. One possibility is social entrepreneurship, i.e. offering valuable products and services, in line with your mission, that are (partially) paid and at the same time contribute to a meaningful social impact. Social entrepreneurship combines a market orientation with a social purpose, generating both financial and social revenues.   Course objectives By the end of this course, you will:
  • Understand what a social enterprise is: characteristics, elements and the differences with an NGO
  • Understand the what and how of a social enterprise: business models, value propositions, financing streams and key partnerships
  • Learn a step-by-step approach to transforming (parts of) your NGO into a social enterprise
  • Dive into sustainability and financing modalities and explore the growth projections
